I think either you're going about it the wrong way or you're talking with fairly uneducated people. From my experience, both blacks and minorities I have spoken with about this subject matter appreciate this kind of discussion.
I understand where youre coming from in that some Blacks decide to be passive and easily use the victim card, and there are definitely people like that. However, I think there are increasing numbers of Blacks who take an active stand to showcase how racism from slavery has morphed into "white supremacy".
Very few white people will understand the idea of "white supremacy"--the fact that whites will always seem to have more opportunities, open doors, and living rights than blacks/minorities. It's not the usual form of racism we "learned" about in school, but rather it's hiddenly ingrained in our society and that's why it seems "normal"
The U.S. is not equal. We may all have equal rights, but we dont have equal treatment. Sorry to burst your safe little bubble
