But in terms of importance: Britney > Gaga >> Beyonce = Rihanna
Actually, Rihanna will eclipse Beyonce soon if the latter's album underperforms again. Sure, Beyonce is more talented than Rihanna will ever be but Rihanna is very current and has evolved image & sound-wise with such ease that she's proven to adapt to any musical climate. She's forward, trendsetting and possibly more influential. Beyonce has already shown that if she releases the wrong material her presence will not be felt.

I agree 100%. I almost put Rihanna ahead of Beyoncé, but I think we'll get a clear answer a year from now.
I think that you need artists like Charli XCX, Natalia Kills, Porcelain Black, and others like them to find mainstream success in order for Gaga to be considered as important (or closer to as important) as Brit.
Without her, the music industry will be boring as hell
The pop industry might me a bit more boring, Gaga definitely increased competition within pop. But the whole music industry? I doubt you even stray away from a couple of genres if you think the music industry would be boring without Gaga.

I thought Marina and Charli were such good friends because they worship Britney?
Beyonce has major influence on actual juggernauts like Rihanna and Adele. Not to mention the new wave of girls like Rita and Azealia.
CIL is the most critically acclaimed single release of our time by a female pop star and her overall career and presence has been the blueprint for how kne should be in and outside of music.
