I agree with the demographics aspect that you are talking about. I mean I even felt myself thinking that the contestants were really young. But honestly I ended up really liking x factor this season. I felt like the contestants were like the future of pop. When I watch the voice i get so bored and the contestants were all so forgettable.

When is season 4 of The Voice starting next year?

There is nowhere to go - If they change it to Mondays or Tuesdays, there is The Voice, and Friday is a DEAD day for ratings.

The only thing that could be done is going to Tuesdays and Wednesdays - Then facing only 1h of The Voice and managing to escape Modern Family, The Big Bang Theory and Two And A Half Men.

Season 4 of The Voice starts in March; Season 5 will probably come in September again, since they have two cycles now.

Nielsen to use Twitter to measure TV ratings

"The measure, called 'Nielsen Twitter TV Rating,' will look at the total audience for television on Twitter as part of a multi-year agreement between the two. Among the information it will aggregate includes: Those who Tweet about particular shows; Those exposed to the Tweets."

The new measurement will not replace Nielsen's current television ratings, instead, Twitter's Head of Media, Chloe Sladden, said in a blog post, it will enhance them.

"As the experience of TV viewing continues to evolve, our TV partners have consistently asked for one common benchmark from which to measure the engagement of their programming," said Sladden. "This new metric is intended to answer that request, and to act as a complement and companion to the Nielsen TV rating."

The information will become available at the start of fall 2013's television season.
