Sure Starships hurt her urban support and image/respect but it made all of her business ventures this year more possible and it opened her to a WW market that will get to decide with the next record if they want to stay on board.
Not to mention that it's made her a more visible star so that when she does make a more heartfelt album next go round the Grammy's may actually take note.

But I do agree with you on the idea that she should have stuck with SB-style pop. Regardless, the dance has done some stuff for her career and she's realized now that's not the lane she should stick in. At least she had some fun - the whole original goal.

What I should have said, and what I kind of alluded to in my post, is that she could've gone the Super Bass-pop route, not have lost a whole lot of fans/respect, and gotten all of those endorsement deals. Starships did lots for her global status, but not without the all of these consequences, and she could've easily done it with something else pop oriented that didn't strip her of her identity.

Thank YOu wlly. I'm sure you know what I mean. She's still my fave, but there is just so much baiting on here. Nicki has so much potential. I know I'm thinking way too much about it. and you're very right. HS is great. I just want a song like Fly, but fully developed. FLy is my favorite song by her. It speaks to the strength of the under dog. It says that you're good enough to rise above no matter what you've been told. Thats exactly what she has done. I need that fierce drive.
