It sold more due to it being the lead single and peaked higher due to having a better 1st week in the US, and you know it.

The fact that Piece Of Me managed to outsold Gimme More even with a lower peak and no hype even in the US speaks volumes about its quality.

I didn't really get into Britney until her Blackout era. I saw her twice during her Circus Tour. I skipped The Femme Fatale Tour.
