Lady Gaga in Brazil: "You marked me forever, Rio," says singer in concert for 40 000 people
To say that Lady Gaga did a two and a half hours show in the rain in Rio de Janeiro is not enough. Do not translate what those 40 thousand people lived in the Parque dos Atletas on Friday (11/9). The "Born This Way Ball Tour 'is not just a show, is a first-rate musical, worthy of Broadway. But that's not all. The pop star went further and created a strong and deep connection with the audience: what ever dreamed.
"You marked me forever, Rio. I will never forget you," she said.
The show featured everything fans hoped: the castle scenario , which opens and closes, the megahits (the tip of the tongue of the little monsters), the choreography of the clips, 12 costume changes, dancers and a sharp supergroup (click here to view 30 photos from the show). Lady Gaga, unlike other singers, singing live - and plays guitar and piano. To complete, the words in Portuguese that the audience loves to hear, were also part of the night. The singer has learned to say "hi guys", "I love you", "feminine" and "masculine" in "Brazilian".
All this is impressive, of course. But the most captivating is its relationship with the public. Nothing goes unnoticed by the singer with faded pink hair, wihch waving, kissing and choose fans to go up on stage and sing with her - the most exciting moments (in "Hair" and the encore). Seeing them cry with emotion for doing her dream, she is moved.
"I had no notion of love that awaited me here in brasil. I was never so happy as this moment. Do not say that dreams come true? This is the face of joy for a dream come true. There is no price for the love of you" declared tearfully in a scene seemingly very genuine and spontaneous.
Gaga is grateful to fans, costumed and decorated with the choreography, for allowing her to be a pop star who always wanted. At another point, she says grateful to have paid dearly for tickets, which amounted to 1.500 dolar initially.
"I know how expensive it is to be here" said the American, who, in the encore, dressed in a shirt advertising the UPP (Police Pacification Unit), possibly the only mistake of the presentation. She says "Rio knows peace" but a fan was raped in the city on the eve of the show. History to see gringo is different - not Gaga's fault.
The little monsters present enjoyed every minute. Gaga is the spokesperson of them, while encouraging them to meet as individuals. The musical - assuming it comes to that - talks about the quest for freedom. There are clear references to gay marriage, legalization of marijuana and the recognition of gender identities and in the midst of it all, faith. Gaga, now the character is freed from his prison as overflows. This is what she believes as artist.
Onstage, Gaga managed to leave behind the jokes about the low ticket sales, the comparisons with Madonna, and all the criticism of haters. The presentation was a great debut for the passage of his tour in Brazil, which will also include concerts in Sao Paulo (11/11) and Porto Alegre (13/11). But for now, the popstar is glazed in the Marvelous City.
"The Rio de Janeiro is my favorite place in the whole world! Do not forget that. "
