Taylor said, “It’s a song I wrote about a guy that I met, and then you meet someone and then they kind of have to go away, and it’s long distance all of a sudden.” At first I thought this song was about Jake because he lives in Brooklyn (New York) and he was promoting “Love and Other Drugs” in London when they were dating. However, I realized she wrote the song in March/April of this year (along with Treacherous) which is around the time of her fling with Harry Styles. I also read (unconfirmed) that they had a brief meet up in NYC but Harry left for London the next day. It’s definitely plausible given that Harry was in NYC and London in April. With lines such as, “how strange that I don’t know you at all,” and “the feeling you can know so much/without knowing anything at all”, it’s easy to see she didn’t really know the guy. It all makes sense because the Harry thing was so brief and she barely knew him while she was writing the song.
Again they had a reported "fling" in April this year which ended when Taylor found out Harry was kissing/seeing another girl (Emily Ostilly)! Perhaps she’s the “girl at home.”

I read this earlier today. I hope it's just a cruel prank. But understandable since Joy is a new mum, she needs to take some time off for her family. At least there will be a new LP next year.
