Ground Zero is in the Financial District which is low lying and on the border of Manhattan. Times Square is more above level. If that floods, then there REALLY is a problem.

Ok, I've just been to NY once and I walked very fast from ground zero to Times Square that's why I asked, don't remember the levels, please can someone give me the link for the live cams again?

In the morning when you go out scouting around the area be safe and don't trek to far from your home. Those who don't have essentials will start to freak out and will go into survival of the fittest mode.

I was without power for a week after Hurricane Ivan and it was like Mad Max in my neighborhood after 2 days.
