I'm a little confused here. I should clarify that I am in no way a Christina stan, but I do have some of her music on my iTunes.
It's a little worrying that Your Body flopped though, considering Christina's got so much going for her with this track.
1) The song is catchy as hell. Radio should have gobbled it up. Not only is Max Martin's production stellar, but Xtina's vocals were spectacular. Those high notes and the runs in the bridge >>>>. It's the perfect pop track
2) The video was just awesome. She looked sexy as hell and the concept was a lot of fun too. The response to the video seems to be very positive, at least judging by the Youtube views.
3) Christina had the perfect platform to debut the song on. The Voice is getting fantastic ratings. She's been back in the public eye for a couple of years now.
4) Shouldn't she be coming off a bit of a high after Moves Like Jagger? Yes, of course radio won't play her right off the bat. But MLJ must have at least gotten them warmed up to the idea of Christina being a formidable force on the radio again.
So where the hell did she go wrong? Was it just that she didn't promote the song enough? Would a couple of TV performances really had that much of an effect?
The song had so many things going for it... It's worrying that such an obvious smash like this went practically nowhere...
