I should have been Mariah's manager. Trash like Butterfly would never see the light of day while Outside would spend a consecutive 8 months at number 1.

Damn, Strangergab; kill a rate won't you?  I gave most of the Butterfly singles 8s or 9s, but I've really taken a liking to them recently; probably would give them all 10s (sans "My All") right now.

That was the intention, and what this song does is confirm that Mariah was THE authority of young love in her generation; no one had a better handle on the conflicting emotions than she did. Unfortunately, Columbia/soon to be ex-husband Tommy Mottola disagreed on the strength of this song, and it was never given a full release, nor were physical singles made.

I like Butterfly. it's one of Mariah's few inspirational songs that sounds personal and passionate,
The climax is amazing.

If Columbia wasn't willing to release Butterfly physically as a single (resulting in its absence from the Hot 100), what chance did Outside have?

Out of the Top 10, I gave everything a 10/10, except The Roof (4/10), Underneath the Stars (7/10), Can't Let Go (9/10), and Emotions (9/10, but I'm thinking I shoulda given it a 10).

At first I was upset with UTS going at 9 but the top 10 is just so strong.
I'd say in terms of quality of whats left, Always be my baby is probably the weakest, but is probably my favourite.

"The Roof" still on track for that #1, the same number it reached on the HOT 100 and UK SINGLES CHART and GERMAN SINGLES CHART.
