What would they do together? MKIA again? I'm really hoping she does CMB live.

An excerpt from the PopCrush review (3 1/2 stars):
Quote:
It’s her voice and the undulating beat that make this song a toe-tapper from the opening note to the closing one. The organic tone of Clarkson’s voice is what prevents the song from sound too synthy or studio created, which is often an issue with pop songs. There is no trickery here; it’s all Clarkson being a vocal diva.
Clarkson harmonizes with herself throughout the song and while she may be catching her breath, she is taking ours away with her range and the passion with which she sings. She hits her notes with a fire in her belly, and she imparts some serious soul into these lyrics — which is likely due to the fact that it’s an autobiographical song.

PopCrush review

Kelly Clarkson has enjoyed a career resurgence with her fifth album ‘Stronger,’ which yielded hits like ‘Mr. Know It All,’ ‘What Doesn’t Kill You (Stronger)’ and ‘Dark Side.’ She has just dropped the new single ‘Catch My Breath’ from her upcoming ‘Greatest Hits’ collection and we’re instantly reminded of why we fell in love with and remain enamored by the original ‘American Idol.’
‘Catch My Breath’ is a hooky, midtempo anthem, which is a style that has become the singer’s specialty. The song is anchored by Clarkson’s husky, belter’s voice and the lyrical declarations about who she is and why. She lets it rip, singing about how she doesn’t have time to let people hold her back.

With the anthemic and empowered ‘Catch My Breath’ and several singles from ‘Stronger,’ Clarkson has emerged as the poster girl for beating the odds and staying strong no matter what life throws at you. She is able to be believable in that role since she is so girl-next-door. Plus her gorgeous voice is always front and center; she has been upfront about the fact that she is a singer, not a pop star, so all those image-driven bells and whistles fall away and her voice is what infests the senses.
When she sings “Catching my breath / Letting it go / Turning my cheek for the sake of the show / Now that you know / This is my life / I won’t be told what’s supposed to be right,” the declaration is powerful and it’s made even more potent thanks to Clarkson’s smoky pipes.
Sounds like she has another hit on her hands.

After an hour worth of listening to CMB on my commute to school, I am officially obssessed so please disregard any previous negative, presumptuous, silly comments about the song from me.
This song is so 90s pop and it slays over all the other girls who are stuck in their futuristic recycled techno songs. This is definetly going to be top 5 on hot100

That's it? 3.5 stars? it's worthy of at least 4. Let me go burn their office down.

I want dubstep/electro in Kelly's next single Kinda tired of typical Kelly's poprock song

I have a feeling the music video is going to be a MKIA type with flashbacks or her just standing there
I want an easy 90s dance choreography!! Something Kelly can handle!

Ten years ago last month, Kelly Clarkson stood cry-crooning her way through “A Moment Like This” at the Kodak Theater in L.A. as she was crowned the first-ever winner of American Idol.
Five platinum-selling studio albums, ten Top 10 singles and about a dozen worldwide tours later, the powerhouse songstress (and still the most greatest Idol of all time) is now getting ready to release her first-ever greatest hits package, Greatest Hits – Chapter 1. (In the pop world, that’s basically eons–Hilary Duff has two greatest hits packages, you know.)
To kick off the long overdue collection, Clarkson is about to release a brand new single: “Catch My Breath,” which just premiered on On Air with Ryan Seacrest moments ago.
From Miss Clarkson herself:
To celebrate the strength and longevity that my fans, friends, and family have supported me with I wrote this song “Catch my Breath” with one of my best friends that has seen me through everything. This song represents who I’ve been, what I’ve felt, and where I’m headed as not only an artist but as a 30 year old that is now smart enough to know that it’s time to stop, catch my breath, and be proud of not only what has been accomplished but of all the people that have helped me become the woman I am today.
The song is a proper introduction to a more self-assured Clarkson who, as she told Ryan earlier this morning, has found a boyfriend: “This is going to sound lame to a lot of, like, feminist women, but I found love…once you find love, it makes you more comfortable,” she eloquently explained. Oh, Kelly.
Floating atop cool synthesizers and a reliably Clarkson-friendly rock-pop pulse produced by Eric Olson, “Catch My Breath” plays like a blend between the lighter moments on Clarkson’s 2004 masterpiece, Breakaway (think a mix between the title track and “You Found Me”) and its grown-up 2011 counterpart, Stronger.
The track was co-penned alongside her musical director Jason Halbert, whose been with her every step of the way since Idol. Accordingly, the lyrics capture Clarkson at her most introspective (a la 2007′s largely self-penned My December), ditching the boy drama and angst, turning inward and sounding more confident and in control than ever before: “Catching my breath, letting it go, turning my cheek for the sake of this show/Now that you know, this is my life, I won’t be told what’s supposed to be right,” she declares.
Sure, there’s some signature yelping throughout the track (that ringing final note during the song’s bridge, especially!), but for the most part, “Catch My Breath” is one of Clarkson’s most laid-back offerings in years. (Also, that c-c-c-c-catch my breath bit during the chorus? Perfection.)
It’s classic Clarkson, and a true breath of fresh air.

Omg! Catch my breath is a grower! I believe it will do much better than mkia in terms of radio AirPlay! I'm so stoked! The chorus lyrics are so relatable in some ways! I can't wait to see Catch My Breath out peaked YOUR BODY so that I can clocked those delusional Xtina stans!
