Everything is compared to everything else. Taylor is #1 because she's sold more in the past 24 hours than the #2 song has. But if, over any given 24 hour period, a song sells more than "Red", that new song would be #1. Say "Gangnam Style" was #1 and sold 40,000 copies. If "Red" sold just 41,000 copies in like 7 minutes, she'd instantly be #1 for the next 24 hours unless another song sells faster.

So the iTunes chart is always based on the previous 24 hours of sales up to that point.

The songs from "RED" make for a pleasant listen if you play them in this order: Red-->WANEGBT-->BA

"Red" will easily surpass "Begin Again" in plays on my iTunes. I feel like "Begin Again" is forgettable and doesn't stand out in her discography, which makes it a weak single choice.

I feel that BA is a very well written song and highlight Taylor's strong knack for narratives that clearly illustrates a single moment or feeling. However, the song could have been much stronger production and melodic wise. "Breathe" shows how she can create a catchy melody and still maintain that strong craftsmanship in lyricism we see in BA.
