They act like R&B is completely new for her. Maybe they are referring to the singles. And her debut was very R&B leaning to me.

Exactly lol. Talking about it my surprise some people that she likes Hip Hop. I definately think they are referring to her singles.

Yes, it's hilarious. She's an RnB singer in the purest sense of the word -- all of the footage of her on talent shows as a kid show her over-riffing over Aretha classics, she was signed off the back of that Demo CD which was solely RnB/Soul covers and the vast majority of her released discography across JoJo, The High Road and the mixtape is all RnB. The only reason she sung pop is because the label marketed her as a "Pop princess." She herself said that she hated Leave and the direction of the song when she first heard it.

It is hilarious. Even as poppy as Leave (get out) was you could tell from her tone, riffs and runs that she had a soulful voice. I think it would have been a better interview if it somewhere mentioned that although the label marketed her as a pop princess, as you stated, she’s been practically singing R&B right out of the womb and that she has a long R&B discography.

EXACTLY. I wish I wasn't blocked, I REALLY want to go off, and be like 'Yet...here you are...STILL denying the questions we've been asking. NO "coming soon" updates on Demonstrate"...I WISH there was a way they would just shut down already.

I don't think they are ignoring it, but I really think they are broke. I'm pretty sure that's why they are trying to release unreleased Aaliyah tracks 10 years after her death. That is how desperate they are for cash.

I wouldn't mind a rick ross remix of Demonstrate (since he liked her live performance of it) with those extra adlibs she did on the live version. I thought that live version was better than the studio.

Oh I'm pretty sure they are broke, but I hate how they keep lying to us fans. Saying "Coming soon" hang tight. It's annoying. Just be honest about it. Don't release a single if you aren't willing to promote it. They haven't released Aaliyah's song to itunes yet either

I think that goes to show how broke they are - that they can't even put the Aaliyah song onto iTunes. I've noticed this pattern, they can't even put out the other chick's single on iTunes...I CAN'T WAIT for them to close down. I see it happening sometime in the next year.

Maybe then she would be free to find another label? She needs to be with a label that will do all of the work like when she first came out. She's not really into self-promotion.
