Most of the time, those who get warned for posting only a gif or a smiley with nothing else were reported. Sometimes they get warned when seen and not reported. This also depends on the moderator. Personally for me, I only use it with extreme pointless cases like if the gif or smiley in question that was reported made no sense in a thread. Or if it was in a thread where you should use your words. I understand it is part of ATRL culture now to just reply with a smiley or gif, which is why I often ignore, but it is part of the rule that has been around now.

Since times have changed, it is likely to change. We should be discussing it soon. However, as of right now, it is part of the rules and is warnable.

I understand completely why the posts about download links were warned, even if they were also just jokes.
Anyone on that page would have known we were joking -- it's like the Army making a joke about Radar being featured on Brit's next album by revealing the exclusive lyrics "You're on my radar." It's being silly, not trolling.
I'm fine with my points, but banning VampireGrin for something that was clearly a joke four days before the single that we've all eagerly anticipated for 2 years now is cruel beyond need.

I looked at the posts and I understand you all were just joking, I could see it now obviously. Some fans don't have that kind of heart so they will report any false information and call it trolling. The mods who get the reports and know nothing about the situation will warn what they see and if it is causing problems. It's a two way street. Not a lot of people know the Animal's inside joke language. The only one's who do are those who visit her threads more often than the others.
Honestly if I was in the thread and saw you guys posting that, I would have been excited for any news. I haven't even heard those two songs above. Well, I think I may have listened to Supernatural I am not sure. Some members who don't know your kidding language would see it as trolling, if they were familiar with the false posts.
If anything it would have been safer to do that in the Ke$ha Base Thread because that is mainly the place for the fans to talk anything about their artist. The album thread is for actual and factual album talk.
