If this were any other year, I'd agree with you, but this is the year that Adele, fun. and Gotye topped the charts, so I think it's pretty safe to say that mainstream pop is, by and large, more literate than it used to be.

I think people are eager to check her stuff out because CMM is really a great pop track and TK sounds really catchy so people actually bus it.

I think "This Kiss" will do better than "Good Time", too, because several news outlets are calling it the follow-up to CMM, which makes me think the public views "Good Time" as more of an Owl City single. That means "This Kiss" can still ride off the tidal wave of success CMM provided.
