As much as I like Obama, I've watched dozens of his speeches and this was not the best one he's ever given, although it was very good. All three nights of the DNC were bookended by fabulous speeches--Michelle Obama and Bill Clinton especially blew me away. In terms of actually swaying votes, I think Clinton's speech was the most effective in how frank and up front he was about the facts (and yes, they were actual facts), while making some important connections and distinctions between his presidency and Obama's (so far

). His ad-libbing and humor were fantastic--and given purpose of his speech and the nature of him being the actual candidate, I don't think Obama was in a position to make many of the statements Clinton was able to do and do well. What Obama did do was make specific points about many different issues and paint a clear picture of the two choices the American public has. He also showed great humility and maturity, especially with his line from Abraham Lincoln, and cut down on the lofty rhetoric that he is often criticized for. I don't think he absolutely knocked this one out of the park, but it was very good and well delivered, and a fitting conclusion to an extremely successful convention.
I look forward to Obama shading the **** out of Romney at the debates. I think I actually might even be more excited to see Biden wipe that creepy grin off of Paul Ryan's god-forsaken face.
I know ATRL is extremely liberal, which is correlated with how young (and, of course, flamingly gay

) users on here are, so I don't expect there to be much actual discussion, but for anyone who is voting for Romney I'd really like to hear your reasoning for doing so--for me the choice is absolutely clear.
