The song is still no 1 on itunes and after the video her lead increased. The only struggle right now is with country and that was to be expected. As for the album performance we just have to wait and see.

but the radio reception and the general reception ... i hate to agree to CFC, disco and taylor's points (that i bashed around the release

Yep either have confidence to send the song to both pop and country or don't send it at all. Dual releases will always result in one song performing better than another.

The radio reception has been good everywhere except country. I am hoping that update from today is just a blip but we shall see. If it can manage to go the distance everywhere except country that would be understandable if not exactly pleasant and unfair given what they play as country music.

yeah its reaching to expect it to smash on country but i still dont want the top 10 streak to break!

and if it continues to rise steady on pop, HAC, AC then i will feel much better about it!

That is definitely what happened with Mean and TSOU. That was my exact thought last era. If Rihanna can't pull it off why did they think they could do it? I am hoping they don't make the same mistake this era. I am hoping they have thought the singles out this era and have ones that can easily be played on country but pop would not have a problem playing. If she can't find a balance her era will be very messy with radio.

We shall see what happens with radio. If she performs well at the VMA's that should help and the video gave her a boost on itunes. We will see if it had any effect on radio with the next update. I am hoping her appearance on CMT will boost things on country radio. She has done all she can do the rest is up to the fans and Taylor will have to make adjustments based on what happens after that good or bad.
