I seriously feel like the odd hilary fan out alot... SWOM was one of my least faves. Still is.

I think because when I first started liking Hilary... even as a big fan I found a lot of her songs to be really cheesy. So it was definitely a guilty pleasure. Even when I became open about my hilary fan-ness... I still appreciated the less cheesy songs more because I didn't have to be embarrassed when playing them around my friends. My friends were going through their teenage punk rock phase at the time so someone pop like Hilary was offensive to them. So I always appreciated the less cheesy/sentimental stuff much less. For example like "Mr. James Dean" was one I wasn't scared to share with my friends cause it was more rock and she actually wrote it. So the usual reasons she shat talk her were invalid lol. I think even though at this point I don't care I'm much older now and I don't care about pleasing my friends. Who I now call my hipster friends... cause they are lol. I still find myself denouncing some songs that I might find a bit cheesier.

Also writing all that has got me thinking about how I'm DYING for new music!

I'm not understanding how SWOM is necessarily cheesy. Yeah it might have a grand production, but lyrically it's one of her more meaningful songs.

Agreed. My mom passed away when I was 6 a few years before SWOM and that song helped me a lot. I'm 17 now and I still listen to that song whenever I'm missing my mom. Hilary is just amazing for releasing such a song. It's helped a lot of people. I see comments on the most viewed video of SWOM of people saying that they aren't even really fans of Hil, but they love and relate to the song and it's inspiring. <3
