maybe they are using the same strategy which they used with BHC or If I Die Young Country => HAC => Pop. That means they focus on longevity rather than peak

Actually it works always like that, the song usually is sent to other formats when it is peaking on Country (Good Girl had that fate too). It will be interesting to see how BA performs on Hot AC, infact its performance there may be the key to pop crossover.

wasn't BHC getting played on CHR during the "Wasted" chart run on country? I can't remember, it was too long ago

It's hard for a country artist to smash on Top 40 without a pop remix BHC was a freak with a strong enough hook that the country influence was irrelevant, and Carrie was fresh off American Idol. It had over 110 adds before officially going for adds

And Carrie won't remix for pop, which while commendable, limits her options.

I can see BA doing well on HAC but I dunno about the mainstream format

anw, BA can't reach #1 yet in the 3rd week of September, so it will fight on both country and HAC at the same time. It will help the overall position in Hot 100

BA is more pop than all of her previous single (except for TAPFU) It will just smash on HAC and Pop It's just the matter of time

BA will reach top 10 HAC with the right promotion. It's as sure as "the-other-girl" can't have another week at #1 and will free fall from the top spot
