Let Me Rant..:
I don't understand why she even did a video for that song, nobody cares about it but poptarts, and it doesn't have replay value. The more pop singles released, the longer the sellout comments stay relevant.
She should have released Champion, IAYL and Hov Lane. Then Released VVV or Masquerade (since in the ADIDAS commercial).
This era needs to end.

Speaking from an international perspective, I'd say Check It Out was what started it, as it was her international debut single. It flopped though, so you could "blame" David Guetta, as he got her pop ability noticed first.
Super Bass was released after Where Them Girls At in most countries, and that created her pop image. Fly showed she could do softer songs, before the double-whammy of Starships and Turn Me On pretty much cemented it all.

What the hell? How am I obnoxious. First, I said she is a rapper so she can't be the next Rihanna. And yall need to read my post again. I NEVER said Super Bass made people call her a sellout. I said Super Bass made her fanbase get bigger. That led to her doing more pop music that led to people calling her a sellout.

Let me just get this off my chest:
Nicki Minaj deserves EVERYTHING in the world. She deserves the love, and she deserves the hate.
I don't HAVE a problem with Pop. But people need to realize HOW ****ING TALENTED NICKI IS AS A RAPPER. She can be a Rap Legend. Her verses are FIRE, her wordplay and all of that. She's so talented its crazy.
That's why I get so damn upset. **** FLO RIDA. **** him. Nicki shouldn't be emulating him. Nicki's talent truly shines on her Hip-Hop, and her crossover tracks. Not her generic Dance tracks.
So for ****** to be talking about ****, and ****, like **** that ****. Nicki has the potential to be so great. People like Division will NEVER understand. You weren't there repping her TALENT. You are HERE repping her SALES.

But in the end, I agree with everything you say. Nowadays, it's all about Money. Quantity > Quality I suppose...but what do I know? When I speak my mind and give my side, I'm "delusional" and a "fool" and its "stale" and all of this shade...I see how it is though.

This era would have worked so much better if she kept MM, SS, and whip it and cut automatic and the rest of the pop tracks and replace them with urban/cross over tracks and make the deluxe edition the same but instead of Turn Me On (Like what the ****?) replace it with a urban track.
