Then your original argument doesn't make sense in context because the person you responded to was talking about whether this song, if hip hop/R&B, could stand a chance at pop radio (I'm not trying to argue that it does; I'm just saying that's what the original argument was). The fact that Rihanna has support on other formats is irrelevant.
Do remember that I'm saying Lady Gaga gets just as much support as Rihanna on pop radio because that's the only format that matters in the context of this argument.

Gaga has done very well on HAC but that's irrelevant to this discussion anyway.

Point of the matter is, Kendrick Lamar isn't a big time rapper and his success on urban and rhythmic has yet to be seen, and I really think he'd need success on other formats to get support from pop radio. Hip Hop records don't just get played because they're hot. Pop radio is a bandwagon radio format. We'll see if radio, particularly pop, is fully back on the Gaga bandwagon.

Yes, and I don't disagree with you. You're missing the entire reason I responded to your post and this is not it, hun.

1. Hun, my post makes absolute sense in context because these Hip Hop/R&B records usually stand a chance on pop because they do well on other formats, like I said in the post you quoted. If R&B/Hip Hop doesn't play it, then it could have a hard time crossing over to pop, even with Gaga on the song.
2. Gaga has done well on Hot AC with two songs. She's not a crossover juggernaut, and she has never proven to give other artists hits as feature artist.
3. I was just summing up my argument I have made since the beginning of this thread. It really has nothing to do with your post.

Just listen, will you? All my argument was that Rihanna does not get any more radio support on Pop radio than Lady Gaga. Why the hell would you consider multi-format appeal of the two artists when the original argument was for pop radio? Look at radio R&B/Hip Hop. Now look at radio Pop. What do you notice hun? Just because you can chart well on Hip Hop/R&B (or ANY other format for that matter) says nothing about your chances on Pop radio and the same goes vice-versa. Have your six seats before you hurt yourself.

***throws you a Tampon***
I don't really care about your argument since it's just showing that you're MAD.
At the end of the day, it makes no sense to compare a Kendrick Lamar record to records by more seasoned artists such as Jay-Z, Kanye West, Lil Wayne and Drake; Rihanna has proven to be an essential part of a successful crossover single and Gaga has not; a lot of the Hip Hop/R&B records that cross over to pop needed support from its core format to be able to make any kind of impact on pop radio.
I don't feel the need to continue an argument with someone who is condescending or refuses to understand the other side's argument. When you cool down and cleanse your soul, then we can talk.
Anyway, I can't wait to hear this record.

Okay, sorry. I'm a little condescending sometimes and I'll apologize for that.
I just found it a little frustrating when all I was trying to say is that Lady Gaga has the same radio support at Pop as Rihanna and then I keep getting a mass of text about cross-overs and R&B/Hip-Hop when that's not what I'm trying to get at. I don't care about Kendrick or his song or whatever.
And I'm not saying anything about this song's potential, just to add on. I'm being purely speculative about the pop potentials of Gaga and Rih.

I think Rihanna has a bigger presence on radio in general while Gaga has a better hold on Pop. But anyways rih is irrelevant to this topic and I can't wait to hear the record.

I can't wait for this. I'm really interested in hearing the result; both are incredibly talented and could make a really huge record out of this.... why is this being released on a Thursday, though?

Rihanna gets WAY more airplay support than Gaga. The fact that she's still top ten on the Hot 100 without much in the way of sales and streaming support should tell you a lot.

Pop > Adult Contemporary > Urban > Rhythmic > Dance
That's the hierarchy.

Which would be a little more fitting, considering it's his song, not hers.

What do you mean? And doesn't rhythmic contribute more AI than urban?
And I get what Cap10 was trying to say earlier. Nowadays, the only rare cases that urban songs crossover to pop is when they've already been massive on urban, which is what I think he meant. You never get a song smashing on both urban and pop at the same time anymore (the last time it happened was What's My Name?). So if this song was ever to be a hit on pop, it would have to be massive on urban and rhythmic first, and also do well on downloads, and then maybe 6 months later pop radio might pick it up (this happened a bit with The Motto and ****** in Paris).
