It stands out from Gaga's entire discography due to it's message of empowerment and freedom and the song itself has a much more enticing theme, versus the typical/standard break-up theme present in most (if not all) of Taylor's work. Gaga showed progress musically while Taylor regressed heavily backwards with her new lead single.
Taylor's lead single is insipid and tiresome compared to GaGa's former lead single. While BTW has some lyrical deficiencies, they are miles better and inspiring than the "We-EE" and "ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever...

I respect your opinion , but don't talk like you heard the whole record .
A lead single should be radio-friendly to remind people that she's still there .
Go listen to '' Safe & Sound '' and '' Eyes Open '' to see how she did progress .
Swift's song. I mean, I love BTW, but it seems like if you express yourself, aren't "normal" gender, aren't "normal" sexually, or just plain not "normal", this has to be the only song that you ever listen to. As a transgender partially homosexual person, it's frustrating as all hell.
