Wide Awake is the only other single from TD besides Cali Gurls to get more than 1 week at its peak position. All the other singles were either at #1 or #2 for just a week, Wide Awake is slaying

Them haters are a mess, they just want a reason to hate on Katy, there's noting wrong about discounting your song or Capitol/Katy wanting that #1, it's business, those things about "My fave doesn't care about peaks or albums sells, they just care about the music" is BULL****! If your faves isn't an indie artist who doesn't benefits at all from their music then you have no room to talk , all mainstream artists make money from their albums, it's because of their hits and album sells that they are able to go touring, it's promo, that's the reason why Capitol/Katy want that #1, there's a lot of people who will buy an album just because "it has a lot of hits", and as long it's within the rules, they can discount and remix their songs as many times as they want, the haters need to deal 'cuz they ain't cheating.
There are more reasons but I'm on class right now.

I am missing everything (but I am on a vacay so it is okay in a way). This is the only thread on ATRL that I have not missed a single post, now I had to read last 20 pages. I am here to advice you not to panic, it was the best era in pop music (for me at least, and for all the Cats probably too), I am so proud of Katy. The discount is pointless at this point, but they tried. Well, that would be all. Kisses.
Too bad this will miss out on #1 Hot 100 -- it would've had a chance if they'd discounted two weeks ago. Oh well, this has still done amazing for an 8th/2nd single.
