I don't think "fun" is a downgrade, nor do I think any of TFM videos are "generic," yet they have millions more views than the BTW era songs.

1. Views have nothing to do with actual videos, people come to youtube to listen to songs and the bigger a song is, the more views a video has. An example of it would be On the floor which has like 500 million views.. but it's only because the song was massive in every part of the world, the video itself is nothing special
The only exception is Bad romance which everyone had to see because it was so shocking and controversial.. but how can Gaga repeat that? people expect anything from her now and she isn't new so it's not possible to top that
