That cancellation was WAY back in 2003 though. Her and Justin both pulled out of KIIS' holiday concert. I agree that the station could hold some sort of grudge against her for it and I thought that a few times over the years. It just seems somewhat unlikely since they have played her songs. They were pretty supportive of her during the BA era. The music director is still the same. Here's an excerpt from him after they canceled:
"Adds John Ivey of L.A.'s KIIS-FM: ''[Kelly's] single was a huge hit, but they didn't take advantage of the time frame.'' And when Clarkson and Guarini pulled out of the station's holiday concert, Ivey recalls, ''we didn't have much response. More people took a swipe at us for having them on the bill in the first place.''
He thought she was going to flop because they didn't release her material fast enough and nobody cared.
They've been weird about her singles. They never put Stronger in power rotation even when it was #1 for 3 weeks. They did play IDNHU though which was weird.
I'm not expecting an add from them. I was shocked when they added Stronger tbh. I did send John an e-mail directly rather than go through the station. I asked if they planned on adding the song because it seemed everyone else in the country had, lol. I said I was a big iheartradio listener and I listened to them and Z100 and Z100 seemed to play it a lot and I was wondering why they hadn't... I got a reply saying they love Kelly at the station and would be playing it soon. It was added the following Monday.
I'm sure it was coincidental but I like to think I helped it along
any word on any live performances yet for DS?!
