So BBC radio 1 didn't playlist P&C, that either means they're not going to playlist it all, which pretty much means as a single it will be DOA because without Radio 1 she's screwed in the UK.
Or it means that it won't be on BBCR1's A list by the 9th when its released, which I think will mean that it will be her first single that hasn't made their A list.
Either way its not looking good, at least if its the latter the song may make the top 75 but I doubt it would do anything for EH which really needs a boost right about now to get it back into the top 40.
Sometimes I don't think she'll ever truly break the UK like Florence, Ellie and Paloma have, she's not ethereal enough for the likes of BBCR1 and she's not Jessie J enough for Capital FM. I genuinely think she has a better chance at doing well in America.
Didn't Shampain not get to the A list? I think the highest it got was to B list. Not like it mattered that charted at like 145 or something.
I think we all kinda know that Power & Control won't be a huge hit or maybe even a hit in any sense. Plus it's not like she's had time/she just hasn't done any promo for it.
I think with enough airplay it could have been another top 20 for her, lots of non-fans pick it out as an instant stand out track from the album.
You're probably right about Shampain although its success does not bode well for the sucess of P&C. She really needs something to give EH a boost back up the charts because at the rate its going it doesn't look like its going to sell 100,000 copies. I suppose the biggest fear is that is Radio 1's lack of P&C a sign that they're ceasing their support of Marina's singles this era or even Marina herself? Because without their support that puts an end to any chance of success she might have in the UK.
As for the promo even if she had more time she's kind of exhausted all options available to an artist of her standing promoting Primadonna and Electra Heart, she can't exactly go back on those shows again in the same season.
P&C was kind of a crap single choice for Marina. That song was destined to just be an album track. This doesn't spell doom for her though. I am sure she will bounce back with her third single, whatever that may be.

I kind of agree, Power and Control is a great song, it's my favorite on the album, but it's just not single material. I think Living dead should be a single.
