Between the cheating boyfriend in the 'Part of Me' video and Markus's cheating comment to Russell on twitter, I have a feeling he did something. We will see when this music video airs.

From the lyrics of the song to her basically saying nothing about him in interviews, it all makes sense. Katy is expressing it through her music. Her movie will probably give the most insight to what happened though
It could be that she eats the poisoned strawberry and she falls sleep, and (somehow) even her prince betrays her But she wakes up (aka Wide Awake) by herself showing she doesn't need anyone and is strong by her own
