Putlocker is among the video streaming sites that have been blocked by Internet Service Providers after an order imposed by the High Court.
The website has been blocked from being used in the UK after a successful made this month by the Motion Picture Assosciation by America
Putlocker allows users to stream movies and TV shows for free online.
The MPAA, a body that represents major Hollywood studios, argued the sites breach their members' copyrights by hosting their content for free.
An MPA spokesman says: "The MPA will continue to use this proportionate measure to tackle sites overwhelmingly dedicated to facilitating and promoting online copyright infringement.”
Noticed they blocked a bunch of new websites yesterday. Welp, guess that's it for piracy, game over, they've blocked a website, there's nothing else to do.
This seems like a massive waste of time to me, I was half way through watching a show on another site and all I had to do was Google for another and just continued where I left off.
Every time they block one another one pops up. They're wasting more money trying to stop piracy than it's even worth because nothing will stop it. Besides, streaming sites are just the tip of the iceberg, I don't even use that mess anymore because of the poor video quality.
As long as file hosting services exist, which they WILL if they want to push the "cloud" so badly, so will illegal downloading, and that doesn't even include *******ing...
trying to shut down s*** like putlocker is futile. trying to stop piracy is a waste of time, money, and resources. you cannot completely kill piracy (especially on the internet).
