OLED didn't used to be better and cheap enough. Samsung has improved the technology that's why Apple is now using it for watches and in future products.

You got the article messed up, the display wouldn't be OLED, it would be some stupid OLED touch bar on the keyboard.

I mean, I'd be happy with any kind of update, but a touch bar seems really extra and would hopefully just be optional.
