3 people died, and the story isn't 3 people died. The story is 1 vegan died trying to prove something. I wonder why? I hope this thread isn't an excuse to be nasty. She's a local university lecturer, a wife, and a daughter. And now she's dead. But she's vegan, so people seem to be having a go. Over 280 people have died climbing Mount Everest - RIP to them all. I hope they felt happy in their final moments, getting out there and seeing the world.

Of 69 fatalities this decade (most caused by falls and natural disasters), 21 have been attributed to illnesses and health complications.

I'd love to give mountaineering a go some day - but I've lost so many people that I've known from fatal accidents. Perhaps I'll stick with hiking for now.

Not all 280 but some yeah, two people this week alone (excluding the woman) have died due altitude sickness and I'm pretty sure they weren't vegan
