The undercurrent of misogyny isn’t too hard to see, even if it’s not stated explicitly, and the all-female principal cast has riled up many male YouTubers since the trailer first dropped. The notion that an actor without the proper genitals would dare to star in a previously-established film property has, for some reason or another, gravely offended the denizens of YouTube.
Misogyny has nothing to do with it. The trailer is awful as I'm sure the movie will be too. And people are tired of bad remakes of classic films. Feminist are gonna have to get over it.
I saw the trailer when I went to watch Captain America and people were excited about it. Who cares about what a bunch of youtubers living on their mom's basement say?
I personally didn't think it was that bad. Then again, I didn't have any connection with the original like some others do . I wonder if they'll still go ahead & release it with such bad reception to just the trailer...

The trailer is absolutely awful but let's not pretend like most of those little boys ranting in the comments care only about the quality. It has a lot to do with the cast.
The trailer doesn't look that bad imo (it's not very funny to be fair, but I've seen films before which were really funny and not reflected in the trailers, so I would give it a chance if I were a Ghostbusters fan).
But let's all be honest, we all know loads of feminists will flock to watch the film and will say it's amazing for exactly the same reason that some people hate it!
Personally I probably won't ever see the film, but I wouldn't have watched it with an all male cast either, since I haven't even seen the first Ghostbusters (although maybe the fact that I don't hate the trailer as much as everybody else is because I never saw the original so I have no reference point to compare it to, I don't know).

They have to release it. Way too much money is invested.
I'm still looking forward to this even if I don't find the trailers that enticing. I've liked most of the recent comedies the director has done, so I'm trying to keep the faith

You can't say misogyny has nothing to do with it when fanboys have been crying about the all-female cast from day one. It's not the only factor, but it's clearly a factor.
