I am not a Donald Trump fan at all, but I am unbiased. So I'll say this, he was clearly joking. It made me chuckle. He was just mocking her because of her "ancestory", I probably would have said the same thing too..

I am 45% First Nations, my partner is 75% First Nations. I grew up with the traditions, teachings, culture of aboriginal way of life. It did not offend me at all. And I refuse for it to bother me. I'm not uptight at all, and can chuckle at this.
