Teen Vogue: What made you even decide to send the first tweet about Azealia Banks?
Skai Jackson: I know who Azealia Banks is, and I would always see her trending on Twitter. At first I would never really pay attention to it, but then I realized she was trending because of all the negative things and all the racial slurs that she was saying to [Zayn Malik]. I felt like it was totally offensive and not right to say at all. She's a bully, and I've been bullied when I was younger. I'm against bullying, I hate it because I've dealt with it. I felt like I had to say something on my Twitter.
TV: Were you surprised when she responded to you?
SJ: Yes and no. I was surprised because I didn't tag her in my first tweet, so I have no idea how she found it. When she did reply and I saw what she said, I was like, “Alright, this is taking it to a whole 'nother level of rudeness.”
I don't really understand why she said that stuff to me, but I'm like, you know what? I'm not going to sit here and let her keep on tweeting, and tweeting at me. I'm going to say something back.
TV: Azealia’s account was suspended by Twitter, and several of her shows were canceled. Do you have any thoughts on that?
SJ: There should be consequences that happen when you say things about people, especially racist things. I'm honestly going to say I've heard some of her music; she is a talented person, but all that talent is being covered up with all this negativity that she's causing on her own.
I hope that one day, Azealia will realize eventually that what she's doing is not helping her out at all. I really hope that her team and her people are helping her and telling her, “You need to get off of social media and take a breather for a little bit because what you're doing is not helping your career whatsoever.”
I hope that she takes a break from social media and everything and lays low for a little bit. Even if that is deleting your Instagram or deleting your Twitter for a certain amount of time — which I've done before, just to get back into myself and get back in tune with myself. I definitely hope she realizes that what she's doing is not cool. She may seem like she's hurting people but she's not. She's kind of making a fool of herself and making a mockery of herself.

When a 14 year old girl is more down to earth, humble, smarter and generally a better (well established both mentally and commercially) person than a 20+ something year old musician.
Funny how after all this time all it took to bring Azealia Banks down was a black 14 yo girl and a horde of 12 yo white girls. I'm screaming.
