I always wondered this and i'm not talking defending on blogs.

Like stan group vs stan group.

Isn't the whole purpose of being a stan is to request, go to tours and buy singles/albums?

What do stans get out of "dragging".

They have fun, and enjoy themselves while supporting their favorite artist.

It also gives me the giggles when I see other members dragging.

they think they are the ones they stan for, talking about sales and **** like they are getting something out of it, fact is all these stars have more money then we will ever see selling 1 million or 10 million albums, It's just a waste of time because in the end, no opinion will change after the argument..

those "which star will own this year" arguments are so non worthy:, they all win and they don't give a **** if they sell more then the others as long as they sell

It's cool to be proud of your favorite artist and to share your opinion but "dragging" is funny as well, I do get some laughs out of it because some members actually their own special way with words, as long as they aren't take it seriously, it's cool

I think all stans who drag do it for fun. We get defensive about our faves, but we drag to be funny and to screw around with other people. At least in my opinion.

I think stan fights don't serve any deeper purpose, they are just our way of procrastinating and enjoying these forums. With this many successful artists an 'us vs. them' mentality is bound to manifest in people's minds and that leads to conflict.

Whether this conflict is just meant in a light-hearted way or taken seriously is a crucial difference, I've seen personal insults that in my humble opinion went below the belt.....

but most of the time it just serves our own entertainment
in the end, as others have pointed out, the artists have a more indifferent view, or in the case of Rihanna - she actually admires Beyonce and strives to be like her, there is no jealousy or conflict
