When the challenge is the fusion of fashion and technology, do you think of shiny fabrics and cyborg features? How about recycling and considering sustainability and garment workers' rights?
Actress Emma Watson made a statement with her interpretation of the theme, wearing an outfit made from recycled plastic bottles.
"Plastic is one of the biggest pollutants on the planet," she wrote in a Facebook post.
"Being able to repurpose this waste and incorporate it into my gown for the Met Gala proves the power that creativity, technology and fashion can have by working together.
Watson was not the only actress to take sustainability to the Gala; Australian actress Margot Robbie and 12 Years A Slave actress Lupita Nyong'o both had sustainable components incorporated into their Calvin Klein gowns, according to brand consultancy Eco-Age.
It was a great look for her, and it really did fit the theme considering the eco-friendly aspect of it.
Her instagram makes it pretty clear that sustainability and eco-friendliness are things she always prioritizes in her fashion choices. She makes going green look so beautiful and effortless.
