Things local and/or originating from the South:
Fried Chicken
Sweet Tea
Cornbread
Queso con chile
Hot sauce/salsa
fried catfish
collard greens
Mac and cheese
Dressed sweet potatoes
etc etc etc

Well, I was including Texas as well which has a heavy Mexican pop. and we created salsa. It originated from us and is a staple of Texas cuisine.

And umm I've never had southern food from the South. I was made up north so idk how close it was to being real Southern food but it's amazing

I said it originated from Mexicans tho?
I only included it cuz it's such a big food item in Texas, which is part of the south. If it's that serious, pretend I didn't write it.
