Katy Perry: "Social media are narcissistic and fake"
Quote:
She told Cosmopolitan.com, "Speaking from someone who has a lot of social media spotlight, I feel like social media is very narcissistic and displays a life that isn't really real."
And while she isn't against social media, and definitely takes her fair share of selfies, the singer does take some phone-free time out of her day to "stay grounded and take in some mindfulness" by meditating 20 minutes a day. "I wish there was a thing like Shabbat that wasn't particularly religious-based, that was kind of a worldwide day where we're not on our phones. I just think something like this would be really great for our minds, especially because kids today don't even know what a life without internet is like. And I think it's going to be really difficult for our focus and our attention spans moving forward. So I'd love if the world implemented an actual day of real rest.
"I proposed [this social media blackout] a while ago and the internet basically told me get cancer and die. No, I'm kidding, but seriously don't read the top five comments on any Instagram of mine because they're really bad."
for all its negatives, social media can be extremely positive too. i'm so bored of this "teh internet iz bad guyz!!111!" narratives that everyone is constantly preaching to make themselves feel better about themselves. go join the puritans or something

The made me laugh so much.
I'll never understand how can anyone be an internet troll they must have sad lives.
