No. You all are so wrapped up in sales. Norah Jones and Alanis Morissette were outselling main pop girls in 2002-2004 and 1996-1998 respectively. They're still not more culturally significant than those main pop girls though. Sales are impressive and important, but there are numerous other factors that contribute to one's status as an icon.

Bey ain't getting number 1 singles anymore and isn't breaking any records. Adele is also giving most of the shows she's appeared on their highest ratings, etc. Isn't that supposed to be the definition of star power?

However, Taylor, Adele, and Bey are pretty interchangeable in terms of their star power. Each completely dominate the conversation when they release and no one comes close.
