maryland isn't anything like the south and isn't really that far south, so i don't know why it's included in the south here
actually i think in general the regions are more complicated than being split by state lines. like here in virginia everything south of richmond is a lot like the rest of the south, but from there to DC is nothing like the south. DC is really not the south. actually, everyone here makes fun of the south. lol
