The Girls Aloud song got high rotation on all the big top 40 stations in the UK and some TV performances, and while it under-performed it still did fairly well. The problem was that the song was released when dance-pop was dying down. A year earlier it probably would've been #1. I think it's the song itself that is to blame, they shouldn't have released a song like that when that kind of music had been already been all over the radio for 5 years.
