The sister of Lily Allen’s stalker Alex Gray today said sorry to the singer for her "years of torture" at his hands.
Kaylie Gray, from Perth, said it was “horrendous” what Allen and her family had suffered. She spoke out as she appeared along with Alex’s mum Michelle on Good Morning Britain.
Kaylie admitted:
"We are really sorry that it got this far. It's horrendous what her and her family have had to go through and obviously we feel so horrible for her."
Allen’s hell began seven years ago when Gray, 31, started bombarding her with obsessive letters and threatening tweets. But he then approached her at her studio, broke into her flat and threatened her in her bedroom with what she believed was a knife. He was eventually charged by police and is now awaiting sentence after being convicted earlier this month of burglary and harassment.
Days go Allen blasted the police, claiming they treated her more as a "nuisance rather than a victim”, adding that the experience had left her "a changed person".
But she added she was not angry with Gray and claimed "the system has failed him". She said: "Until he gets the right treatment and the right help he needs, then I'm not safe. “You can throw the book at him, put him in jail, but he'll still be coming out. And the victim is never safe.''
