What do you think about people who are 40+ yet still maintain a trendy and youthful style?
A lot of older gay men dress young for their age. Is it weird to you? Is it more accepted if the person looks younger than their age?... for example Gwen Stefani or M.I.A.
I hear what op is saying. If you live in socially advanced areas of the country like west hollywood, New York, etc then its ok and not seen as a big deal. But if you live in Tulsa and you dress with them tight flamboyant shirts at 40 or 50 then yes youll be stoned unfortunately.
It's super cringey to see an older person wearing Aeropostale or something like that but that's simply because it's marketed towards teens + it's tacky regardless of age. But people shouldn't just start wearing mom jeans and sweaters because they're aging.
In fact, you look older when you decide to stop keeping up with trends.
But there are some people that should dress younger because they still are incredibly youthful (like JLo and Gwen) where as other people can't pull it off as well (like 75% of the 45 year old gays in clubs).
It depends on how young/old they look tbh. If they are middle aged, and obviously look middle aged, then it'll come across as desperate. If they look younger than their age then they have a higher chance of pulling it off. Basically if you're older, and you look older, leave certain clothes to the younger generation
