Rihanna has been notorious for maintaining a close relationship with her fanbase, the Navy. Whether it’s giving shoutouts online or holding hilarious meet-and-greets, she goes above and beyond for those who support her.
But it was recently revealed the “Work” singer topped her already high level of compassion; she’s been privately helping a fan come out of the closet.
The correspondence began with DM on Twitter, which was posted on the popular fan forum ATRL. The fan, who wishes to remain anonymous, reached out to RiRi because they were nervous how their friends would take the news.
“Baby it’s okay to be scared,” the pop star wrote, “but it’s more important to be who you are! You don’t have a choice, really. That’s not a decision to be made! You are who you are… Your family may not understand but luckily you live in a generation that does!! And more importantly the community here amongst us, we will hold you down, boo!!! #NavyRdie”
