Religion is what holds society together. Imagine what the world would be like today if the Ten Commandments had never been written. Pretty much every law is tied to them in one way or another.

This argument is so dated and false.
Without religions you still have rules (like the golden rule for example). Empathy and compassion explain morality without the necessity for religion. Also without a religion you have nothing to live for? My friends and family count for nothing? As if love loses value without an afterlife. In fact life gains meaning without a religion because now is all there is.
Also religion actually takes away accountability for your actions because all you have to do is repent and you are good whereas without a god you actually have to deal with longranging consequences for your actions.
I'd say religion does a better job at splitting societies than uniting them for holding them together

The first four commandments are absolutely useless and the other ideas are not unique to christianity. Also the 10C miss important stuff like rape or slavery, so clearly morality has other sources as well.
