If you thought chariots for women were just in fairytales, you can think again.
As the worrying increase in sexual assault claims made by women to popular taxi service Uber grows louder, a new Boston-based startup has decided to launch a car service made just for ladies.
Yep, in an attempt to improve women's safety, the new female-only Uber-like service called Chariot for Women will only accept women or children under 13 as passengers. Sorry fellas!
In an effort to protect passengers, Chariot for Women will only hire women drivers who will have their fingerprints taken and undergo intense background checks - women sitting in the driver's seat will also have to answer a security question to confirm their identity on a daily basis.
Why children under 13? That just seems like an odd cut off point.
Because boys 13+ start puberty and could harm the women drivers.
I like the idea but it's crazy how many women only things need to be started to protect women from rape & assault by men. At this rate everything will be sex segregated
This is a very good idea. A lot of women are uncomfortable being alone with a man that they do not know, especially in a closed area like a car where he is in control. If you're not a woman then you don't understand the daily fear and paranoia we feel about possibly being assaulted and yes, most of attacks on women are by men. The amount of women reporting having been sexually harrassed/assaulted will go down significantly because of this
