Her music just isn't as great as a lot of people seem to think. She can make really good pop songs (Video Girl, In Time, Figure 8, Pendulum), but the songs where she tries to 'experiment' come across as tuneless for the sake of being tuneless and don't really go anywhere. She isn't doing anything particularly exciting, if the production weren't as good the music wouldn't be half as interesting. The visuals are better than the actual music, honestly. She feels superficial, I say this as someone who quite likes her.
