As some of you may or may not be aware, becoming a member of the Grand Ole Opry is one of the biggest honors in country music. This honor has been bestowed upon artists like Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts, Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood, Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton and Johnny Cash.
Was Taylor just too pop to achieve this honor? And is there any hope for her in the future? Like her or not, Taylor Swift was one of the most influential artists in bringing country to international attention in the last 5-10 years.
Notably, some major country artists who have yet to receive this honor are Faith Hill, Leann Rimes, Lady Antebellum, Shania Twain, Miranda Lambert and Tim McGraw.
