So what does the 75-year-old Grammy winner, who opens up for the first time about her 39-year marriage in this week's issue of PEOPLE, think of today's music?
"I honestly will tell you, they lost me when rap came in," she says. "They use language I don't approve of."
What's more, "When I'm in the supermarket and I'm listening to whatever music they're playing I can hear the Auto-Tune," she says. "I'm going, 'Don't do that!' "
But the singer, who counts Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald among her all-time favorites, was game to try reciting the lyrics from two current hits: Drake's "Hotline Bling" and Selena Gomez's "Hands to Myself."
Reading the new songs' suggestive lyrics, she observes, "I wrote 'Do That to Me One More Time' and everybody was shocked!"
