The city seems like a grand metropolis with a unique and historical location. It is one of the most populated cities in the world as well. Is it safe to travel to Istanbul? I would like to hear first hand from those who have been there about their experience.
I was there just for a few hours, waiting for my connecting flight. Nice city I guess, but SO MANY people everywhere, plus some men trying to touch my friend's breast in metro... I wouldn't come back for holidays tbh.
I have been to Constantinople Twice, once for a week the second time for two months.
It really depends on what you like ... If you like Islamic art and architecture it's amazing, same if you like Byzantine architecture. It's also very cosmopolitan and it feels like a world city with everything and it's opposite
It also has beautiful panoramas and views thanks to the Bosporus
However, if you like nature and cleanliness... Don't go. Completely ruined by urban sprawl, you have to travel for hours to reach some sort of natural unspoiled beauty, traffic and crowds are enormous and constant, air, land and water pollution are awful. I remember once u tried to walk along the divan yolu old mese and I could not breath because of the car pollution

I went in the fall so it was ok, it's still one of the places in the world one must see tbh but don't expect relax lol. I think it's good to do 4 days instanbul 3 days beach
you can do whatever you want because we have everything here
