I'm thinking of buying a pair of Audio-Technica ATH-M50x headphones, but I thought it would be good to get ATRL's opinion before I make the plunge. I already own a pair of Bose SoundLink On-Ear Bluetooth Headphones that I love, but I also think it would be good to have a pair of full-size headphones that will really block out noise. Plus, I can only use my Bose for a few hours at a time because they rest on my ears.
Are the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x really as good as the reviews say? Would I be better off saving more money and buying something more expensive?
Recommended them to the user Witchpop & he loves them, all the reviews are true, they sound amazing, very little leaking and fit my head perfectly (even with glasses). Happy with my purchase

My Bose do a pretty good job of blocking noise, but I live in a dorm, so it can get really noisy and I'm not a fan of noise cancelling headphones. The reviews said that these are great at blocking out noise, so I'm glad to hear that's true. Thanks for responding!
I had those for about 2 years before I broke them (through my own fault, accidentally pushed the earpiece too far back and broke the plastic). I used them every single day and they were great. Good sound and really comfortable. I wouldn't waste your money on something more expensive. I'm probably gonna buy another pair soon.
Those are monitor headphones that are made to be affordable. Producers use them in studios and the likes. They are very recommended by audiophiles and you can't lose at that price point.
Another model you'd want to look into would be the Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro. They're at a similar price and they are often compared to the ATH-M50s. I have both and I prefer the DT 770s.
Good luck on making your choice. To be honest, anything would be an upgrade from Bose. Those kind of suck.
They're great headphones. I think you'll love them! Also, don't let the post above dissuade you (assuming you stream music). Popular streaming formats are indistinguishable from the lossless formats.

Yeah, no.
Unless you're talking about Qobuz, which is basically the same but doen't work in the US.
